Thank you so much for stopping by this page to get to know a bit more about me and why I started Parent Guide Inc. My business story started a way back in 2001... …after the birth of my first daughter, I realized that an "all-in-one" resource guide for parents was needed, and fast! I designed the New Parent Resource Guide to fill a gap in the community for busy parents like myself. The New Parent Resource Guide offers an A-Z of key contacts for parents, caregivers, service providers, and health care professionals.  Working with key businesses and organizations in the community, we have also compiled much-needed articles, tips, and charts to answer all your parenting questions. The latest addition to our family is the School Age Resource Guide to serve parents of children, 3 to 18 years!  This guide answers questions about: nutrition, bullying, curriculum, building self-esteem, and much more, as well as offering a full directory of local and national resources. The Parentguide.ca website offers an “all-in-one” spot for parents to connect, add their own blog, and find needed resources in their community.  It is a site that educates and entertains and if you can't find somthing just ASK me. I am here to serve YOU!  My hope is that you connect with our members, find comfort in their words, and share your own story. My goal is to see what I can do to help make life a bit easier for you.   You are why I do what I do! I can’t wait to get to know you!  Comment below to tell me about yourself – then start blogging so we can find out what makes you get up in the morning!  Check out my blog too and I am sure you will be surprised what gets me out of bed each day!!! Sweet Babees

After having my third baby and going through tons of different products for diaper rash, lotions and baby shampoos, I wanted to take a look at what I was actually putting onto my babies skin and into their little bodies...... I was shocked and horrified to see all the different chemicals that claim to be natural and pure but had more synthetic ingredients then natural.   When I research some of these ingredients I was very disturbed by what they actually were.  I realized all this time I was putting possible cancer causing agents, moisture stripping sulfates, allergy causing perfumes, colorants and the list goes on.. into my babies little bodies. So with the help of my own mom we set out and hand picked every ingredient that goes into our Balms, Whips, Bars and Soaps. I wanted every ingredient to have a positive purpose and to count as a protective agent or healing agent, not just as filler… and finally we made the perfect products for my babies skin and yours.  Safe, Non-toxic and nurturing BUT above all soooo yummy for the skin. Of course we test out every batch over and over on our own families to assure quality every time and because we love them. Keeping in mind the safety of our environment as well, Sweet Babees tries to leave as little a carbon footprint as possible so we use recycled material for our packaging and our products come in recyclable / reusable tins.Of course our products are never tested on animals.I hope you enjoy the products as much as we do! Sweet Babees 100% Natural Baby Skin Care Products 2012

Children's Furniture Gallery

About Author:

Children's Furniture Gallery

Established in 1991, this family owned business originally sold new and used baby furniture and accessories under the name Baby Furniture Outlet. Glider rockers were growing in popularity and not just with expectant mothers so owner, Harold Duesbury, decided to add the Rocking Chair Gallery. As the product line expanded and the focus was put on only new items the name then grew up to be Children’s Furniture Gallery. Seeing the great quality, Canadian-made furniture we had for kids; parents wanted it for themselves too which meant adding the Bedroom Furniture Gallery. Now all 3 stores, Children’s Furniture Gallery, Bedroom Furniture Gallery and Rocking Chair Gallery can all be found in our 15,000 square foot store located at 1040 Wharncliffe Road South in London, Ontario. All 3 stores specialize in quality, Canadian-Made products. Our non-commissioned sales staff will help you find the right product to suit your needs.

marijean ibclc

Marijean Amesmann, IBCLC, RLC, CLE – Babeeze London & St. Thomas I am a Registered, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and a Certified Lactation Educator (CLE). As a Registered Lactation Consultant, I assist mothers and babies in achieving their personal breastfeeding goals. I provide evidence based prenatal breastfeeding workshops and private breastfeeding consultations. Prenatal breastfeeding workshops include how to know your baby is getting enough milk, how you can help prevent breastfeeding problems and much more. Private breastfeeding consultations are tailored to meet the needs and concerns of mother and baby, such as breastfeeding management and positioning and latch. I first became passionate about breastfeeding through my own experience with my first child. My approach to breastfeeding support and information is based on the knowledge that is required for certification as an IBCLC, while lending compassion and understanding that has been gained as a mother from nursing my own children. I am excited to join the team of practitioners at Babeeze and look forward to connecting with families through breastfeeding education and support.   Marijean Amesmann, IBCLC is available for a private In Home Consultation Consultations include helping position mother and baby comfortably, helping baby to latch and working with the mother to discover her personal breastfeeding goals.  Sometimes the use of feeding devices, breast pumps or other aids can help the mother reach her breastfeeding goals. A Lactation Care Plan is discussed and given to the mother.  Private home consults include 2 weeks of follow up by phone or email.  (First visit lasts 1.5-2 hours) Prenatal Breastfeeding Workshop Breastfeeding is natural and the most nutritious way of feeding babies. It is also a learned art that can take patience and guidance. The trick to breastfeeding well is getting the baby to latch on properly. A baby who latches on well, gets milk well. A baby who latches on poorly has difficulty getting milk. In this 2 hour class proper latch techniques are demonstrated through video and practical hands on experience in a relaxing atmosphere.  Other topics include:  how breastfeeding works, good positioning, how birth practices can affect breastfeeding, expression and safe milk storage, normal feeding patterns, how you can help prevent problems, along with lots of opportunity for breastfeeding questions and discussion! Contact me today to learn more!  marijean@babeeze.ca

The Doula Chef

About Author:

The Doula Chef

I am a DONA trained birth doula and culinary veteran. I am the mother 2 young boys and love every minute of it. I am the oldest child of four, to an amazing, strong women. My mother taught me the importance of strong support networks and gentle care. Her struggles taught me to live life passionatly and do what I love. I have discovered a strong passion for assisting women to feel empowered and be informed during the birthing process. The birth of a child creates an entirely new dynamic for everyone involved. I believe birth, and the time surrounding it is sacred. I trust in the female body to birth children naturally, while always honouring a women’s right to make choices in childbirth. “The power is not in the plan itself, but the education you gain creating it.” In 2009, I completed the Culinary Management Program at Fanshawe College. I have over 15 years experience in the food industry, including in home catering and meal planning. Welcoming a new baby takes a lot of preparation. Birth preparation, labour support as well as, postpartum care of Mom and babe. My skills and passion lead me to becoming The Doula Chef. My goal is to provide a mother with the birth she wants, and families with food for healing. Leaving them more time to connect and readjust. My passion and experience aid me in nurturing women and nourishing families, helping everyone to savour the moment.
