Having completed her journey of motherhood to the secondary school phase (relatively pain-free!) Cai Graham decided it was time to start a business that would engross her in a passion for family photography. However, rather than enjoying their teenage children, Graham became acutely aware that many of her clients were simply enduring them.

Diving deeper into the issue, Graham noticed there was an epidemic lack of love, understanding and respect between teenagers and their parents – so she set out to bring families back together. Her latest book, ‘The Teen Toolbox: Equipping Parents and Teenagers with the Tools for Navigating Adolescence’ is a powerful guide to doing exactly that.

No one taught us how to manage the enormity of parenthood – or how to teach our kids to cope with their feelings – especially during the rocky stages of adolescence. The Teen Toolbox provides parents and teenagers with the tools to successfully navigate this vital stage of your relationship, while enabling you to enjoy, rather than endure, the journey. Inside this comprehensive parenting handbook, you will find:

* Pointers that will help you better connect with your teenage child

* Exercises that are teen-friendly and fast to implement

* Strategies to better communicate so you and your teen can talk more freely

* Insights into building better relationships with the whole family

* Techniques that will help you and your child overcome common issues If you’re looking to reconnect, understand and relate with your teenager better, you need to read this book.

“I bring together practical advice from my experience as a therapist, NLP models and even grassroots strategies from motherhood, to help families recognize that love, understanding and respect are their three basic innate needs – before showing them ways to fulfil these desires and boost the strength of their relationship beyond anything they thought possible.”

Continuing, “The book also comes with an accompanying App, which brings dozens of further resources into one dashboard. From online articles to YouTube videos, families can work through the book, scribble all over it, and then expand on what I teach, online. It’s extremely powerful.”

Endorsements have been coming in thick and fast. For example, James Lavers comments, “A clear blueprint to understanding the heart and mind of our teenager so that, rather than seeming to thwart their happiness, we can help them thrive!”

Sunday Times best-selling author, Andy Harrington, adds, “A valuable point of reference for all parents wanting to reconnect with their teenager and embrace this stage of parenthood with more confidence.”

The New Parent Resource Guide offers an A-Z of key contacts for parents, caregivers, service providers, and health care professionals.  Working with key businesses and organizations in the community, we have also compiled much-needed articles, tips, and charts to answer all your parenting questions. The latest addition to our family is the School Age Resource Guide to serve parents of children, 3 to 18 years!  This guide answers questions about: nutrition, bullying, curriculum, building self-esteem, and much more, as well as offering a full directory of local and national resources. The Parentguide.ca website offers an “all-in-one” spot for parents to connect, add their own blog, and find needed resources in their community.  It is a site that educates and entertains and if you can't find somthing just ASK me. I am here to serve YOU!  My hope is that you connect with our members, find comfort in their words, and share your own story.
