Leading golf enrichment-company expands to impact YMCA youth and families
London, ONT – The YMCA of Western Ontario has selected TGA Premier Junior Golf (TGA), a leading youth golf program in North America and Canada, to develop golf and life-skills lessons for its facilities.
The TGA – YMCA golf programs will debut at the Komoka YMCA, which is also referred to as the Middlesex Centre YMCA and is one of the premier facilities in the London area.
The first series of five sessions, which costs $165 for members and $195 for non-members, will be on Saturdays beginning Jan. 30 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. in the facility’s gymnasium.
For more information and to register a child see www.PlayTGA.ca/London or visit the registration desk of your local YMCA branch.
TGA of London and the YMCA will impact youth by activating and engaging those ages 4-14 in golf through a year-round, multi-level enrichment program. TGA programs are conducted indoors and outdoors on school campuses, at community centers, golf courses, golf performance centers, and now in local YMCA’s.
TGA provides all of the golf equipment for participating students, as well as beyond the class programming and instruction, a TGA hat, student handbook, STEM/STEAM concepts, hat clips for achievement levels, pre-class activity letter and post class progress report.
The curriculum is designed to enrich the lives of students through incorporating physical activity, health, nutrition and character building, as well as supplement core academic subjects like math, science, reading and social studies in each lesson.
All TGA programs in Canada also qualify for both the Federal and Provincial Government child activity tax credits.
TGA (Teach-Grow-Achieve) has become a leader in growing the game through its self-sustaining activation model that makes golf accessible, available and affordable for all youth. The company launched its first Canadian programs in 2014, and has expanded in London and Sault Ste. Marie.
