I love what I do…but mostly I love the people I get to work with.

Meet Kimberly from Kimmik Photography!

I first met Kimberly in 2012 but it feels like we have known each other much longer.  She’s that type of person that you feel an instant connection with, one that makes you smile when you think of her, or, in my case, do anything I can to convince her to continue working with me:)

Kimberly is the photographer for all our guides and each year her creativity and professionalism blows me away!  She really goes out of her way to get exactly what we are looking for.  And, she doesn’t do this just for me, she goes out of her way to make each photo session a sweet, memorable experience.

Just recently I shared that my daughter LOVES unicorns…and I don’t mean just loves, I mean…LOOOOOOVES!!!  My daughter has a unicorn backpack, pillows, too many unicorn stuffies to even try and count, unicorn music boxes, unicorn ornaments – everything unicorn!  Knowing this, Kimberly went out and found her a unicorn!  Yep, a real live unicorn!  That is going above and beyond.  When I asked my daughter how she felt after the photo shoot with this unicorn, she said “I really wanted to look more serious and try some different poses, but I couldn’t stop smiling…it was so magical!”.

When I asked Kimberly why she does what she does she shared something very personal.  She told me that when she can get down on the floor and really capture a child as they are, without posing them or propping them up, she says that in that moment she can be a child again…so carefree and unencumbered.  As she is talking to me, I can see her eyes gloss over and the smile on her face growing, knowing that she truly loves these special moments and she is doing exactly what she was called to do in life.

Kimberly told me that one incredible moment stands out for her in her career.  It wasn’t long ago that she booked a newborn photo session with a new mom and her 8 day old baby.  Kimberly always takes time to get to know her clients, finding out about them and making them feel comfortable and at ease through the session.  She tells parents to relax, smell their baby, notice each finger and toe…and put everything else out of their minds.  Kimberly sat down with the mom after the session and here is what that new mom said, “Becoming a mom is not exactly what I thought it would be…this first week has been so hard…I’ve been tired, sore, stressed…the time with you allowed me to really enjoy my new baby for the first time – no dishes to do, diapers to change, no meals to cook…I just allowed myself to relax and enjoy my baby…it is in this moment that I completely fell in love with him.”

What a powerful gift.  Thank you Kimberly from all of us who have had the pleasure to be captured by you!

Thank you so much for stopping by this page to get to know a bit more about me and why I started Parent Guide Inc. My business story started a way back in 2001... …after the birth of my first daughter, I realized that an "all-in-one" resource guide for parents was needed, and fast! I designed the New Parent Resource Guide to fill a gap in the community for busy parents like myself. The New Parent Resource Guide offers an A-Z of key contacts for parents, caregivers, service providers, and health care professionals.  Working with key businesses and organizations in the community, we have also compiled much-needed articles, tips, and charts to answer all your parenting questions. The latest addition to our family is the School Age Resource Guide to serve parents of children, 3 to 18 years!  This guide answers questions about: nutrition, bullying, curriculum, building self-esteem, and much more, as well as offering a full directory of local and national resources. The Parentguide.ca website offers an “all-in-one” spot for parents to connect, add their own blog, and find needed resources in their community.  It is a site that educates and entertains and if you can't find somthing just ASK me. I am here to serve YOU!  My hope is that you connect with our members, find comfort in their words, and share your own story. My goal is to see what I can do to help make life a bit easier for you.   You are why I do what I do! I can’t wait to get to know you!  Comment below to tell me about yourself – then start blogging so we can find out what makes you get up in the morning!  Check out my blog too and I am sure you will be surprised what gets me out of bed each day!!!
